As a Healthcare Strategist and Executive, Andre focused most of his career on leading Healthcare initiatives, ranging from the design and construction of large Academic Medical Centers, to master planning of Health Systems and providing hospitals strategic support related to facilities operations.
He worked with some of the leading institutions and helped grow the health practices of two prominent Boston Design firms. He had the privilege to lead the development of high-profile projects such as the Shapiro Cardiovascular Center at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the Yale New Haven Health Ambulatory Care Center, the Mass General Brigham Nantucket campus, and the Lakeside Expansion at UMASS Memorial Health.
This proximity to the healthcare community and dedication to the advancement of the academic medical environment has immersed Andre for over three decades in all aspects of a Health System. The result is a thorough understanding of medical culture, related organizational issues and decision-making, and the ability to interface effectively with executive leadership, medical teams and facilities staff.
Over the years, Andre has performed consistently as a trusted advisor for his clients. Through hands-on leadership and strategic guidance, he helped clients, and their medical staff achieve their vision and goals. His background in design and construction and rigorous management approach has allowed him to effectively lead the implementation process of large and complex projects. During his tenure at Cannon Design, Andre was the leader of the New England Healthcare practice. His key responsibilities included growing the business and market presence, leading projects, recruiting, and developing talent and managing clients. |
Andre’s interest in people and building high performance teams, making strategic decisions, and building consensus represent the foundation to his leadership approach.
In 2015, his aspirations to integrate healthcare strategy, facility planning and clinical operations led him to partner with WorldCare International, a medical company -with strong ties to the leading Boston Academic Medical Centers- to build and lead their Healthcare Consulting practice. He developed a unique working methodology for the practice, based on the continuous integration of design professionals with practicing physicians and administrators from various departments at MGH, BWH, MEE and Spaulding Rehab to create effective and innovative solutions. The aim was to have an integrated multi-disciplinary approach that informs decisions throughout all stages of a project, from conception to operations. |
